In Development EditorThumbnailsNo Runtime Cost

Thumbnail Forge is an Unreal Engine 5.7 editor plugin that generates high-quality thumbnail textures from any mesh in your project. Choose from three professionally designed rendering themes — Realistic, Stylized, or Cartoon — and configure output paths to keep your project organized. Zero runtime overhead: the tool exists purely in the editor.

Features
🎨
Three Rendering Themes
Choose the style that matches your game's aesthetic — Realistic (physically accurate lighting), Stylized (painterly and exaggerated), or Cartoon (flat shading with outlines). Each theme uses a dedicated post-process material.
📐
Any Mesh Support
Works with Static Meshes, Skeletal Meshes, and any other mesh asset in your project. Batch processing allows generating thumbnails for multiple assets in one operation.
📁
Configurable Output Paths
Define exactly where generated thumbnails are saved within your project's Content folder. Keep item thumbnails, UI icons, and character portraits organized separately.
Zero Runtime Overhead
Thumbnail Forge is an Editor-only plugin. It never ships with your game build — no performance impact, no package size increase. It simply generates assets you use in your UI.
🔧
Post-Process Material Pipeline
Thumbnail rendering is driven by three post-process materials: M_Thumbnail_Realistic, M_Thumbnail_Stylized, and M_Thumbnail_Cartoon. Fully customizable to match your visual style.
🚀
Quick Start
  1. Enable the Thumbnail Forge plugin from the Plugins menu in UE editor.
  2. Create the three required post-process materials in your Content folder: M_Thumbnail_Realistic, M_Thumbnail_Stylized, M_Thumbnail_Cartoon.
  3. Open the Thumbnail Forge panel from the editor toolbar or Window menu.
  4. Select your target mesh assets, choose a rendering theme, set the output path, and generate.
